Our Design & Manufacturing Process.
At Global Surf Industries, every board we create is the result of over 20 years of innovation, testing, and refinement. Since 2002, our in-house design team has produced more than 200 unique surfboard and stand-up paddle board models, evolving each design to deliver the best possible performance in the water.
We don’t just make surfboards—we make boards that surfers trust.
Designed with Precision
All of our surfboards are designed using Shape 3D software a world-leading 3D CAD platform. This technology allows us to fine-tune every curve and contour: from rocker lines and rail flow, to volume distribution and water dynamics. The result? A design that performs exactly the way it should—whether you’re paddling out for the first time or chasing your 100th barrel.
Engineered for Consistency
For our PU, ES, and SLX ranges, surfboard blanks are cut using SurfShaper machines. These machines achieve a 90% complete shape before a craftsman applies the finishing touches. This combination of precision cutting and expert hand-finishing ensures every board is consistent—so you get the same reliable performance every time.
Quality You Can Trust
Once shaped, each board moves through our 22-stage quality control process. At every step—from glassing to sanding—the board is measured against strict tolerances. This system, refined since 2002, reduces errors, maximises efficiency, and guarantees no surprises when your board hits the water.
We also operate under a Continuous Product Improvement Program (CPIP). This means we’re constantly refining not just the product, but also the processes that bring it to life—ensuring smoother production, fewer errors, and a better board for you.
Built in Partnership
Our boards are produced in long-term manufacturing partner factories in China, Taiwan, and Thailand—relationships we’ve nurtured for over 20 years. Each factory complies with our Factory Code of Conduct, and our product management team visits regularly to oversee production and maintain high standards.
This centralised production model allows us to deliver consistent quality, efficiency, and value to surfers around the world.
Pricing Strategy
From day one our strategy has been to ensure every board we make represents great value for money. We achieve this in a few key ways. Firstly, we don’t run a traditional “pro surf team” program — while many brands spend millions on sponsoring elite athletes, those costs inevitably flow back into the retail price of their boards. This ‘No Super Heroes’ strategy has serviced us well for over 20 years now.
Secondly, we keep our range focused and efficient. By refining our lineup and avoiding unnecessary duplication, we’re able to produce in larger volumes, streamline our manufacturing, and purchase raw materials in bulk. These efficiencies reduce waste and lower costs — we pass these savings on directly.
A Legacy of Performance
Since 2002, Global Surf Industries has sold over 1,000,000 surfboards worldwide. Every board carries the experience, technology, and care that have made us one of the world’s most trusted surfboard companies.
When you ride one of our brands of boards, you’re not just surfing—you’re part of a legacy of design, innovation, and performance.
