Back in 2018, we launched what would become one of the most meaningful collaborations in Global Surf Industries history to date: GSI x Salt Gypsy.

What started with a road trip through New Zealand, a small crew, and a shared vision quickly grew into something much bigger. The original launch shoot captured more than just surfboards; it captured freedom, adventure and a new conversation around women’s surfing.

Looking back, the launch film feels almost like a New Zealand tourism campaign. Endless coastlines, cold water sessions and good people doing what they love.

Since day one, the feedback from women around the world has been incredible.

This collaboration has helped more female surfers find boards designed with their style of surfing in mind; approachable, versatile and seriously fun to ride.

From the original range to the latest collection, Salt Gypsy Surfboards continue to evolve while staying true to the spirit that started it all.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life, especially Danielle, Bridget and Tess, and to the incredible community of women who continue to support the brand.
